Singing
Singing plays a huge part of our curriculum. We understand the personal benefits including: developing language, boosting confidence, improving memory, creating space to express yourself and releasing endorphins, but we also understand that the benefits extend to building a sense of belonging and community as well as providing children with a platform to share important messages that they may otherwise struggle to articulate. Here are just a few examples of our whole school and the smaller choir group in song.
As the tragic events of Gaza and Israel unfolded in late 2023, the children took the opportunity to sing 'ONE DAY' for our school community. The children sang in English, Hebrew & Arabic as a means of promoting peace, love & hope in today's world.
Our school choir, led by our super talented Mrs Riley, sang a 'Prayer for Humility' for all of our Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust schools to use through the period of Lent.
KS2 preparing for Easter Weekend by singing: 'At the foot of the Cross.'
